State Fair Auctions

Take home lost treasure this year at the State Fair of West Virginia. The State Treasurer’s Office will be holding LIVE Unclaimed Property Auctions at the fairgrounds once again this year.

With a variety of collectibles, knives, jewelry, coins, and more, there is sure to be something for everyone. But with just five auctions being held during the 10-day event, you have to be there ready to bid if you want to take one of these treasurers home.

Mark your calendar for:
  • Friday, August 10
  • Saturday, August 11
  • Thursday, August 16
  • Friday, August 17
  • Saturday, August 18

Those are the days you can take part in LIVE unclaimed property auctions at the Treasurer’s Office exhibit in the West Virginia building. Each auction will start promptly at 5 p.m.

Items up for auction this year are abandoned properties that have been turned over to the state from law enforcement or banks. The original owner of the items from bank safe deposit boxes are entitled to the proceeds obtained at auction.

Learn more about the unclaimed property program and do a FREE search today to see if the Treasurer’s Office is holding any of your property.
